Here is a very easy trick for making an average bed, beautiful. Simply add a Canopy! Two simple hems and a staple gun and anyone can do this. This bed is a king size and we sewed the Canopy into shape but for several of you who want a very easy job, all you need is 2 lengths of fabric that are about 4 yards each and anyone can whip this up in no time. If you need help just yell and we will be happy to walk you through it.On this one, we put a 4″ border of silk to finish it off at the front and the look is fabulous. This style canopy looks gorgeous is stripes, checks, florals and especially damask fabrics.Let us know what you think!

I am finally starting to get my little office pulled together and last week, at last put up drapes. These are very simple drapes which are just one width of fabric each and a simple hem around all 4 sides, grommets in the top. I love the simplicity of them and they move very easily on the rods to open and close. This office has been in the works for about a year but I never seem to have the time to devote to getting my own stuff done. For anyone who sews, this is a very easy and quick project and it makes such a difference to the room. It is starting to get cozy in here and over the next few weeks, I will get this room completed and post some more pictures. I’ve planned this to be my great escape room, which I certainly need. Lets hope my children stay clear!!

We have received our new shipment from France and got in the latest and greatest throws from Pierre Frey in Paris. This year, they have made the throws into luxurious patchwork throws incorporating 6 furs. To say we, the staff all fought over them is an understatement.
Luckily we do have a few more to sell!!These fur throws have definitely taken decadence to another level!
Each one is a masterpiece.

I couldn’t let these ship to the client today without first, drooling ………..from a distance and taking some pictures. These are the most luxurious, gorgeous pillows of all time. The fronts are done in the Scalamandre Leopardo (which we were lucky enough to get the last roll available in the US) and on the back of the pillows is the brown silk/mohair velvet.
Truly decadence taken to a new level. Filled with Down and feather!! ooh la la!!We are fortunate to have such a fantastic workroom locally and thankfully their prices are very reasonable. We will have to find some time later this week to take some photos of some other drapes they also just completed.
Once you see some of the fabrics made up, the pictures don’t begin to do them justice.Let me know what you think of these………

Sometimes a simple re-upholstery job or slipcover job makes all the difference. I just got these chairs back today and its hard to believe they are even the same chairs. They now make such a statement in the room, they are more contemporary and hip with just a simple fabric change. We also re-did the wood color to deepen it up but very simple and inexpensive to do.
The fabric I picked for the these chairs is # 8935 but it was a toss up, i was debating using # 8923 which also would of been amazing. There were a handful of others too now that I think about it. I am absolutely thrilled with my choice and I love the warm feeling that I have in the room. Like it has been there forever and you just want to curl up with a mug of tea and a great book……..or knitting……..
Now if I could only get my kids out of there and claim the room as my own………..

We got in a new shipment from France last week and along with the oooh’s and aaaaw’s i spotted a roll of sheers that looked quite unusual and started to think about making drapes for my husbands music room / family room that he only bugs me about on a daily basis.
While everyone up north is waiting for the sun, we are baking in it and he complains multiple times every day about how he needs drapes or he cant be in that room and lord knows i want to keep him in that room!!!So we whipped up some drapery panels for him and i am so thrilled with the outcome, even he, who asked me 5 million times, will they be nice, is thrilled……….no easy feat!!
This sheer really didn’t look like anything at all on the roll and i have to say, completed in drapes they are nothing short of spectacular. i am just in love with them and now considering taking over the room!!! ( on our website the item number is 10250). Click here to see fabric on iluvfabrix.com….

Every day for the last 2 weeks new shipments have been arriving in from Europe. As the warehouse is unpacking the crates we are not able to work as we are standing by, oohing and awwwing……..even drooling in some cases!! Timing wasn’t wonderful for the warehouse as they don’t have space to even breathe right now while unpacking and stocking all the new goods. The design team on the other hand is in absolute heaven here.
During the day, everyone has been disappearing to go and admire. tons of new florals, we are all inspired to redo bedrooms, spruce up our Kitchens and patios for the summer. There are so many new and wonderful fabrics we really don’t know where to look first.
You can certainly see where the color trend is heading too. Lots of purples, greens and even gorgeous yellows are back in.So many choices, so little time!!

We are associated with one of the best ‘bead artist’s ” around. She makes Hand Beaded pillows, every bead is sewn on individually and they are spectacular. It takes about 4 months for one pillow to be completed.Well, we got two of her latest creations the other day and I just cant get over how unbelievably gorgeous they are. She provides a large un-named NY shop with them and they are selling for over $2100.00 each. A lot of dough so thankfully we are able to sell them for less but she’s 81 or 82 now (she doesn’t remember which) and who knows how many more of these gems we are going to be able to acquire.
The vibrancy of the beads is like a piece of art, chocolate hands ……….my kids in particular, stay away!

As a lot of you know I am always a fan of combining fabrics and textures. I love how patterns and textures all play off one another and so at last my dining room chairs have arrived back from the upholsterer and Voila!I just love the effect of the printed velvet along with the tiny silk check. Sophisticated but still fun.
I chose another fabric for a tablecloth for parties, which was fab9082 and I will match up some wonderful trim to go around the sides. Hopefully I will have this done soon and let me know if you want me to post a picture for you to see.Now that the weather is at last changing and spring has sprung….even up north! Its nice to get the house looking good. Almost time for those summer bbq’s and get togethers.
To change your dining room seats and kitchen chairs seats are often as easy as 2 yards (for 6 chair seats) and a staple gun. I can even do a tutorial on it if requested. A very simple update though and not much time to have your chairs updated!!

I am just kicking myself right now for now having a before picture with this ottoman. I have never been a Leopard person but always appreciate how such a small amount of a wonderful animal print can change the spirit and feeling in a room.
This ottoman was done in a dark brown velvet but was just so incredibly ‘dead’ in the room. I took the plunge and bought 3 yards of Old World Weavers leopard velvet. I can’t stop admiring both the ottoman and actually the room. It has taken a dull, stayed room and brought it to life. Love the Pierre Frey throws, but then I have been a fan of these since I saw them in Barneys for a million gazillion dollars. Thankfully our team was able to get them at a huge discount so they are now affordable for the rest of us.So here we go, 3 yards of the leopard velvet fabric from Old World Weavers, a staple gun and a glue gun…………could of done it myself but gave in and had the upholsterer whip it off in a few days.
Absolutely gorgeous, don’t you think?
